Itinerary
Day 1 - Barossa Food & Wine Experience
Start the day at Pindarie Wines, where a family winemaker will share the story of this stunning property and lead you through tastings in the sandstone stables converted into a cellar door. Then, it’s coffee and cake on the verandah, or in winter, cosied up around the fire.
Next head to the main street of Tanunda, where you will have some free time to explore the charming boutiques, galleries and local shops.
Enjoy a photo stop at Mengler Hill Lookout, with fabulous sweeping views across the Valley, before continuing on to lunch at the beautiful Lambert Estate, with panoramic vineyard views and halls of local art. It’s a private party where you will be treated to wine tastings along with family anecdotes and wine notes, all while enjoying a hearty two-course lunch.
Provenance Barossa was the original home of Penfolds in the Barossa which played a key role in the local wine industry since the early 1900’s. Here you can snap some memorable shots in front of the iconic establishment, or even buy a bottle or two of Penfolds as a souvenir.
Your final stop for the day is the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company, where you will sit down to a flight of local Vineyard Road wines paired with house-made chocolates. A viewing wall showcases the crafting of more than 250 chocolate products, including the newest ruby flavor, and you can browse the collection for gifts to take home.
Day 2 - Kangaroo Island Experience
An early start this morning for your coach and ferry transfer to Penneshaw, where you will meet your coach driver for your nature based tour of Kangaroo Island.
Visit Seal Bay Conservation Park where you will be taken on a beach walk with an experienced guide and be amongst a colony of rare Australian sea lions. Get up close and see these wild creatures frolic and laze about – a truly amazing Experience.
After a delicious two-course lunch, spend the afternoon at the Flinders Chase National Park. As you travel through the park, keep an eye out for echidnas, wallabies, reptiles, and koalas. Remarkable Rocks provide great photographic opportunities, and the Admirals Arch boardwalk takes you down a rugged cliff face to reveal the spectacular rock archway, a natural nursery, and a haven for playful long-nosed fur seals.
Your last visit of the day is to the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park to feed some kangaroos and get up close to the Kangaroo Island Koalas while listening to the Keeper talk about the cuddly mammals. There is also a possibility that you will see more kangaroos and wallabies on your return to Penneshaw for your return ferry and coach transfer back to Adelaide.
