The Barossa is Australia's most famous wine region, renowned for its bold reds. But there's more to the Barossa than just Shiraz and Cabernet including Eden Valley Riesling and other white varieties. You'll find some of the world's oldest Shiraz wines here and the region is home to some of Australia's most famous brands including Henschke, Torbreck, Yalumba, Jacob's Creek, St Hallett, Peter Lehmann and Wolf Blass.
The Barossa is just as much about food as it is about wine. The region has a strong food heritage and the traditions of growing, preparing and presenting regional produce in modern mouth-watering dishes is evident in cafes, restaurant and bistros. To get the freshest of produce visit the Barossa Farmer's Market (open every Saturday), or look for the Food Barossa logo at local providers.
The Barossa is one of South Australia's most scenic touring destinations with winding country roads weaving through vineyards and villages. Just approximately 30km x 40km it is easy to find your way around.
